When enjoying Lady Mary’s Walk or Macrosty Park, be aware that the River Earn is prone to rapid swelling after heavy rain. Stay on the upper gravel paths during wet weather as the lower banking can become unstable. After dark, we strongly advise staying within the well-lit areas of the High Street or James Square. The woodland trails toward Laggan Hill and the riverside are unlit, making navigation difficult and increasing the risk of slips or trips on uneven ground.

  2. Action: If anyone says this word, it means "DROP EVERYTHING AND LEAVE NOW."
  3. Result: No questions asked. The entire group stops what they are doing and leaves the area immediately as a unit.

Follow these quick steps to share your live location with a friend or family member before you head out or as you leave a venue:


  1. Open the App: Open the Google Maps app on your phone (iOS or Android).
  2. Go to Profile: Tap your Profile Picture (or initial) in the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. Find the Feature: Select Location Sharing from the menu.
  4. Start Sharing: Tap the large blue Share location button.
  5. Set the Duration: Choose how long you want to share your location. For a night out, we recommend selecting "Until you turn this off" or setting a timeframe (e.g., 6 hours) that covers your journey home.
  6. Pick a Contact: Select the trusted person(s) you wish to share with from your contact list.
  7. Confirm: Tap Share.


The selected contact will instantly receive a link allowing them to see your real-time location on their own map, ensuring you are never alone on your way home.


Remember: You can stop sharing at any time by returning to the Location Sharing menu and tapping Stop.
